Recreation Center Playground Update

A few months ago the GHSNC was told about improvements that are coming to the Granada Hills Recreation Center. We are glad to say that the project is set to begin the Week of September 20, 2010. This project is set to take about 6-12 weeks and the Playground will be closed for the duration of that time. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

  • This is great, finally money put to good use. I love living in Granada Hills and that community center is great for the kids. I take my daughter there, i have noticed police frequently drive by there (Thank you!!!) keeping weirdos away, we can kill a whole day here BBQ’ing, playing football and the playground really needed a touch up. I hope they get rid of the sand and replace it with that recyclable tire material. As a member of this community I feel the council has made great decisions. A tip for the libary is to please have a drive through drop off, its tough when you have a child in a car seat to have to drop stuff off by getting out of the car.

This project was presented to the board at the beginning of this year. The funds for this project come from Quimby and Prop K. The purpose of the project is to meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you have any further questions please feel free to email me at SRivas@ghsnc.org.

When was this talked about? What is the budget for this project? What was the main reason for the undertaking of this project?
