We have an important update regarding the Balboa Widening Project at Balboa and Devonshire to the surrounding communities.
Please be advised of upcoming significant traffic delays at the intersection of Balboa and Devonshire as the project prepares to move forward beginning with the removal of the current traffic control on Saturday, July 19.
A 3-day multiple lane closure will follow from Wednesday 7/23 through Friday 7/25 in order to implement Phase III that will include grinding, repaving, and striping of the roadway to restore traffic lanes (See attached). During this time, it is highly recommended to avoid Balboa and Devonshire and use alternate routes as the closure will have severe delays to traffic flow.
Beginning July 26, lanes will be reopened to preconstruction configuration with intermittent lane closures to complete remaining work including traffic loop installation, tree plantings, and final striping to install dual left turns on Balboa Blvd.
